DESERT SKY WIND DEDICATION WEBCAST IRAAN, Texas, May 3, 2002 - Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Department of Energy Assistant Secretary David Garman and local officials joined American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP), City Public Service (CPS), the municipal electric utility for San Antonio, Texas, and Enron Wind (now GE Wind Energy) today to dedicate the 160.5-megawatt Desert Sky Wind Farm in West Texas. The Desert
Sky Wind Farm (previously known as Indian Mesa and Clear Sky) includes
107 wind turbines, each capable of generating 1.5 megawatts of electricity.
CPS is the buyer of Desert Sky's electricity output under a long-term
agreement with AEP. AEP is owner of the facility (purchased from Enron
Wind on Dec. 31, 2001.) Enron Wind (now GE Wind Energy) built the facility
and provides operations and maintenance services. |
